We all love those light bulb moments where we find the solution to our problems, but how do we get them on demand rather than randomly. In this week’s episode of my podcast, I give you the secret sauce to doing just that. Let’s see what this looks like.
Before we start, I want to share my favourite definition of inspiration: “A sudden brilliant or timely idea”.
Why do you want to be inspired in your business? Because this is a fast track route to success. When you are inspired and you act on your inspiration, everything becomes easy and effortless. You find solutions to problems that you didn’t think could be solved. And you know this is inspiration because you tried to think of a solution and there was none. I love those moments so much and feel blessed that I have them on a regular basis.
So how do you tap into inspiration? In order to understand how inspiration works, we need to get into how the mind works. Stuff that clinical hypnotherapists talk about (I am a reformed clinical hypnotherapist). Inspiration comes when we use the creative mind, which is incompatible with the reptile brain that takes us on fear and worry loops. Inspiration hits us when we go into trance. I used to think that trance was this thing that hypnotised people or mediums did and frankly I wanted to have nothing to do with it because I thought I would lose control and someone else would take over. Nothing could be further from the truth. We get into a trance state several times a day when we perform activities on “autopilot”. I mention in the episode how important it is to ACT on inspiration. I have found Mel Gibson’s book, the Five Second Rule, really informative around why and how important it is to act on it. If you don’t want to read her whole book, she has a fun TEDTalk about it. My inspired action TODAY was to rekindle my Get Started with your Transformational Book facebook group as well as my corresponding newsletter, which you can subscribe to here.
