- Go on facebook to grow your business if you ideal client is there
- Do not do business from your profile: create a page
- Use a name for your page that is different than your profile to avoid confusion
- Do not invite your friends to like your page
- Do not invite people to join your group
- Post on your page consistently with a mix of valuable content, fun facts and offers
- Join facebook groups where you can promote your work (I recommend three in the podcast)
- Make sure you familiarise yourself with the group rules and respect them
- Comment on other people’s posts
- Be helpful and don’t hold back on your knowledge
- Only share a link if you are asked for it (unless it is market day and it’s your offer)
- Do not post the same content with the same image in different groups at the same time
There are of course many more tips that I could give but this is to give you a head start. You would be surprised how many people actually don’t apply these twelve simple tips. In the episode I also go over whether you should create your own group. I share briefly my experience of running one and why I decided to close it. My last tip (and not it’s not number 13 in case you are superstitious) is to have fun. If it’s not fun, don’t do it.
